Impact Spotlight

Living in Amman, Jordan, Mana Al-Obaidi took over her family’s small dairy farm in 2015. Since then, she has received multiple loans from Microfund for Women (MFW), supporting the growth of her business. The SANAD advisory and capacity building function has also provided training in small projects, financial literacy, and marketing and helped Al-Obaidi participate in several fairs to display her products and grow her client base.
But following the COVID-19 pandemic, the business was in a critical position. At this time, financing from MFW not only saved the business but helped Al-Obaidi increase her sales, customers, and revenue, and create new products.
I learned that seeking appropriate funding and consulting specialized professionals for financial guidance was the best way to develop and save my business.
The use of proceeds

Our investments have provided financing for MFW’s micro and small enterprise clients, supported home improvement for low-income households, and funded financial training services.
Purpose of the partnership between SANAD and MFW
MFW is Jordan’s largest non-profit microfinance institution dedicated to empowering female entrepreneurs. Its extensive branch network, with a clientele of 95% women, facilitates access to financing for even the most remote clients, expanding the reach of the fund.
Impact of the partnership

- Facilitate local currency loans, protecting businesses and households from exchange rate fluctuations.
- Expand financing to help female entrepreneurs grow and improve living conditions for low-income families.
- Enhance women’s access to both financial and non-financial resources.
- Support diverse and inclusive businesses, driving regional economic growth.
Support beyond the investment
SANAD’s advisory and capacity building function offers non-financial support and works with MFW’s entrepreneurs to help their businesses succeed. This includes training in marketing and business development and professional networking.
